Depending on the age and ability of the team, there may be a few tournaments throughout the soccer year. Coaches do make every effort to discuss tournaments with parents before registering. The majority of teams elect to choose tournaments within a reasonable driving distance, where hotel stay is not required. Tournaments are about competition and getting extra touches on the ball; however, they also are the players favorite part. Tournaments provide an extra level of team bonding, both for the players and parents. 

Unsolicited Advice From Your Office Manager: If the team wants to try a sand soccer tournament, you should try it at least once. The kids love playing on the beach but the best part really is that  bonding with their teammates and families.
